2A Supporters Don’t Need Better Arguments – We Need More Americans

I care about our Second Amendment rights very passionately and therefore, I like to read what people are saying on other firearms blogs occasionally, while keeping up to date on gun rights news. I generally never comment on what other blogs are saying, because I’m almost always in agreement with them. But one of the latest articles on Ammoland is so wildly inaccurate that I need to speak out on it.

The article is titled “How Do We Turn California and New York Around?” I’ve never set foot in New York, but I’ve lived in California for a little over three years now (still have my Idaho driver’s license) and so I’ve come to realize a thing or two about that state. The author’s conclusion is that California’s gun laws are incredibly draconian because we “lost the suburbs.”

Second Amendment advocates were just so off-putting with their bad arguments, according to the writer, that people just found us incredibly icky and decided to take our gun rights away. California has background checks for ammunition now – and it’s all our fault as gun owners because we just need to use better logic, reason and politeness to win over the hearts and minds of the suburbs. If only we had better arguments, California would magically turn into a gun sanctuary once again!

I like to call this the Jeb Bush strategy of gun rights advocacy. Please clap?!

Having lived in Hollywood from 2017 until this past summer, allow me to explain to you why “better arguments” are not going to turn California’s anti-gun laws around.

I lived about 10 minutes away from the Warner Brothers studios. Unless you happen to bump into someone who works in the movie industry, you really never encounter Americans. They have all fled. The dangers that used to be limited to Skid Row and the immediate area around it have spread throughout the city.

When I say Americans I am not referring to any particular skin color. America we know is a melting pot. When I say you never encounter Americans in Los Angeles County I mean people who love this country. Patriots. People who were born and raised in America and have loyalty to this great nation.

A whopping 60% of households in Los Angeles County do not speak English at all. California has more legal and illegal aliens within its borders than any other state.

Almost all of them live in the major population centers of Los Angeles, the Bay Area, San Diego and Sacramento – the same cities where the former middle class Californians are all heroin junkies pooping on the sidewalk, because they can no longer afford housing while competing with tens of millions of foreigners.

California grants all legal and illegal aliens driver licenses now, and the state automatically registers them to vote when they get their ID – even though this is a direct violation of federal election law.

None of the foreigners voting illegally in California elections support gun rights, and they do not vote for candidates who support gun rights. No argument will change their minds. You’re likely to get cut before you make it halfway through your brilliant argument.

There are only two solutions to this and neither one involves “better arguments.” First, a big earthquake could bury Los Angeles under 200 feet of Pacific Ocean saltwater. If that happened, California would instantly be transformed back into a pro-gun red state. Real Americans would outnumber foreign nationals overnight in this scenario.

The other option would be to split California up into two states – one for Americans and one for all the illegals that encompasses the San Diego-Los Angeles-Bay Area corridor.

The people don’t need better arguments to get their gun rights back in California; they need more Americans. They lost their gun rights the minute the Americans became outnumbered. California is probably lost forever, but hopefully this is a lesson for everyone living in other states. Most Americans support gun rights; most foreigners don’t.
