Rep Jerry Nadler is the First to Politicize the Latest Shooting Tragedy

We live in a big country. As such, we have to face hard news and heartbreaking tragedy more than smaller nations. That really is the price of diversity and freedom, and it isn’t limited to political or cultural diversity either.

The geographic diversity of our large nation exposes us to every manner of natural disaster. Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and anything else that nature can throw at a people hit the United States every year. We pull through each of these with strong hearts forged through the power of prayer, faith and solidarity.

Man-made tragedies are often more frustrating because we feel like we should be able to stop them. What matters is that we face that frustration with the same strength and principle that pulls us through every other hardship.

Virginia Beach

Last week, a madman went into a public office in Virginia Beach and opened fire on the people there. His shooting spree was short lived, but he managed to shoot 16 people. Tragically, 12 of those individuals did not survive. You will not find any mention of this madman’s name here. Instead, a few facts about how the shooting took place will be mentioned.

The shooter was armed with two .45 pistols. Some minutes after he began shooting, law enforcement arrived and tried to contain the situation. Ultimately, this led to an exchange of gunfire, and the shooter was killed.

There’s one part of this story that is truly odd. Shortly before starting the attack, the shooter amicably delivered a two-weeks’ notice. It makes it harder to understand why he took the insane killer route, and because he was (justifiably) killed in the attack, we’ll never know why he did it. It’s just another incomprehensible tragedy.

Jerry “The Liar” Nadler

Naturally, Democrats felt the need to immediately politicize this tragedy. They wasted neither time nor effort. Virtually every major publication has worked to demonize the tools used in the attack. These publications are conspicuously devoid of blame for the actual murderer who made the decision to go on a killing spree.

Instead, there are countless articles and videos condemning the guns in use. There are calls to limit access to .45-caliber weapons, suppressors, high-capacity magazines and freedom in general. The shooter did allegedly have high-capacity magazines and suppressors for his weapons, but there’s no indication that banning those devices would have saved a single life.

The most ridiculous response to the shooting comes from Democrat Congressman Jerry Nadler. Within minutes of learning of the attack, Nadler went to Twitter to complain that Congress hasn’t passed a universal background check.

He also took a moment to criticize anyone who prayed for the people hurt in the attack. Somehow, Democrats have reached the idea that prayer is the problem. Brilliant stuff.

Nadler’s suggestion that we need a universal background check law is completely asinine. The shooter purchased his weapons completely legally. He passed multiple background checks.

The bill that Nadler is supporting here clearly would have had no impact on this shooting whatsoever. It would only serve to restrict the freedoms of the hundreds of millions of Americans who aren’t mass murderers.

The See-Through Attempt

No one is tricked by this. We all know what is really happening. Democrats, who have no logical appeal for their positions, have to try and exploit elevated emotions to try and push poorly-conceived legislation.

We all know better. In every case, Democratic law is intended to reduce freedom, foster dependence on the government and increase their control over the population.

Nadler exposed himself as a frontrunner for the most power-hungry Democrat in the nation. By jumping first, he showed us that he’ll go to any length to consolidate more political power for himself.

Like so many of his peers, he fancies himself as the dictator of the freest people in the history of the world. No one is surprised. No one is tricked. Nadler is just a filthy liar trying to exploit tragedy. If we call him out on this, maybe voters in his district will remember in 2020.
