New York is on the Verge of Total Gun Confiscation Measures

Liberals know they are still a few decades away from being able to outlaw the Second Amendment at the federal level. So instead, they content themselves by chiseling away at our God-given rights by pigeon-holing us into smaller constituent groups — and then outlawing gun ownership for one small group at a time.

The current contenders for the title of “Most Likely to Infringe on the Rights of Americans” are the governors of New York and New Jersey. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo currently has a slight edge. His latest proposal? Targeting parents of public school students.

Cuomo’s latest proposal is truly dangerous because many people who don’t take the time to stop and think about it could fall for its flawed logic. Gov. Cuomo wants to give teachers and school administrators the power to strip gun rights away from the parents of problem children.

If a teacher deems that a student is a threat to himself or others, that teacher could petition the courts for an order to have all firearms removed from the student’s home. This is a horrible proposal for several reasons.

First, it assumes that teachers are a good judge of the character and mindset of all students. Anyone who has followed the drugging of rambunctious boys in the public school system will realize the flaw in this idea. After American teachers were allowed to begin recommending boys for psychiatric treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Ritalin prescriptions for boys doubled in America.

While the true instance of ADHD in American kids is estimated to be around 1 in 10,000, there are many classrooms that will have as many as four or five boys who are on a Ritalin prescription. Teachers simply made their own lives easier by drugging pesky normal boys into passivity.

Second, it assumes that all teachers are virtuous and would never abuse this power. We’ve seen students who were suspended from school or who have even had the police called on them by school administrators for simply wearing a pro-Trump hat or T-shirt to school. Would those students be treated fairly if teachers are given the authority to launch police raids against their homes?

Based on their actions, we know that many teachers and school bureaucrats would label students as a danger to themselves if they simply know that the student’s parents are gun owners.

Third, this is another example of pre-crime, liberals’ favored method of controlling the populace by convicting Americans before a crime is committed. If a teacher thinks that a student might commit a crime in the future, that is sufficient to establish guilt and to strip that student of his or her rights, as well as the student’s parents! All “mental health” gun control bills share this same danger and should be opposed for this reason.

People who suffer from mental health issues are already federally banned from purchasing or owning firearms. Bills such as Cuomo’s latest proposal are simply an attempt to label you as mentally ill.

The Obama administration was the prototype for this sort of thinking. Many veterans were stripped of their gun rights because they might commit a gun crime in the future. When Congress failed to stop Obama from doing that, he went after social security recipients and was on the verge of banning people with student loans from gun ownership when he left office.

Look no further than the Stoneman Douglas High School shooter, Nikolas Cruz, for an example of how school officials have the potential to actually be the worst when it comes to identifying and policing our rights. Under Obama’s diversity initiatives, school officials went out of their way to shield Cruz from ever coming into contact with the legal system — the only currently recognized “lawful authority” that could have stepped in to remove firearms from his home or better yet, locked him up in an institution to protect others.

Pursuit of Obama’s diversity goals and the insane idea that protecting problem minority students from punishment will somehow make them more likely to succeed in life is exactly what got 17 people killed. The liberal solution to this systemic failure is to give them more power to fail even harder. Teachers went out of their way to protect Cruz because of his race, but now Governor Cuomo wants us all to trust teachers to not abuse a new power.

Cuomo’s proposal eliminates the very concept of due process. If a teacher decides a student is dangerous, that student and his family could be targeted for a gun confiscation raid. This is a Soviet-style level of abuse, but that’s where the Democratic Party is today on the issue of gun rights.

If there are any patriots left in New York, they should oppose this proposal with all of their might.
