Liberal Poll: Most Americans Oppose Gun Bans

The left tries so hard to convince the world that good, sane conservatives don’t really exist in America. Sure, there are alt-right groups that show up at Charlottesville, but most people who vote red are just being duped. After all, everything on the right is completely racist, sexist, xenophobic, transphobic and homophobic, and no one in their daily life is seeing that kind of rhetoric from literally half the country. It’s a few evil leaders convincing normal Americans to support bad ideas.

Here’s the thing. That notion is a desperate ploy by the left. They’re actually hemorrhaging support at a rate we haven’t seen in modern times. The last thing they want you to know is that the country as a whole is moving to the right. Well, this poll highlights how the cracks are showing.

Poll Numbers

The first thing to understand is that these numbers come from a Gallup poll. Gallup tries to represent itself as a neutral party, but they’ve fallen victim to the leftist media bias over the last several years. It might not be fair to call them far-left, but they’re definitely left-leaning. If they can admit that the country is leaning conservative on a topic, you can rest assured that there’s a strong case.

So what are the actual percentages? According to the poll, 57 percent of Americans are against a semi-automatic weapons ban. Only 40 percent are in favor of such a ban. That’s a 17-point difference, and it’s a big deal. As you might imagine, support for gun bans always spikes after a mass shooting. The historical peak was after Sandy Hook, but last year’s Las Vegas shooting and this year’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting both came close. That fervor clearly didn’t last.

There are two more points that are extremely important in this particular survey. First is the way the poll was presented. It asked if participants supported a ban on “semi-automatic guns, known as assault rifles.” This is common liberal language, and it’s designed to obscure the nature of such a ban. As you know, semi-automatic weapons encompass a much larger range of firearms than the poorly defined term known as “assault rifles.” Americans aren’t falling for it anymore.

The second big takeaway is how quickly support for gun bans has fallen. The historical average for gun bans is 47 percent. We’re currently seven points lower than average. That’s a big change.

Republicans vs Democrats

For mainstream Democratic figures, gun control is not a waning issue. They’re still talking about it every day, and they’re still insinuating that anyone who is against gun control supports the murder of children.

How is that rhetoric working? Even among registered Democrats, support for gun control is falling. The number peaked at 63 percent in favor last year. This October, that number has fallen to 56 percent. It’s barely a majority even for Democrats.

Naturally, the far-left and progressives are in favor of total gun bans, and they still make up about a third of the whole Democratic Party. In the meantime, independents are growing in number, and they are increasingly against gun control. Now, only 38 percent want a ban.

Finally, Republicans are responding as you might expect. Only 25 percent responded that they would support a ban. What’s important is that this number is low even for Republicans. Last year, the same group was 37-percent in favor of bans.

Why the Change?

This is the question we have to ask. The left has not eased their lobbying for gun control, and yet, the nation is moving away from that agenda. There are two reasons, and they’re closely linked. For starters, the conservative agenda is just plain winning. The economy is up, crime is down, international policy is great and everything looks good. More people are working than committing crimes right now, and all of that favors Republicans. They said gun control isn’t necessary, and the numbers are supporting them.

On the other hand, the liberals have been predicting nothing but doom and gloom since Trump won the primary. Every time they’re wrong, they lose central support in this country. They’ve been so outlandish for so long that people are starting to oppose the left on principle. If their other political positions have failed, why would we expect their gun-control plan to magically work?

This brings us back to the crux of the issue. Republicans are better at policy across the board. After just two years, the majority of the country is starting to see that. The fact that this shift has happened in the face of the most intense leftist propaganda efforts we’ve ever seen is even more telling.

Our nation no longer wants the criminals and failures in office, but you can’t count on average Americans to actually show up to the midterm election. They favor Republicans, but voting is a hassle. That’s why you need to do your part. The majority is finally on our side. Let’s use it to ensure America’s future. Mid-terms are 2 weeks away, make sure you do your part.

When the left succeeds in taking our guns, the entire world will fall to their control! Hopefully Jesus will have returned before that!
