Knife Crime at Record High in England

Prohibitions do not work. They do not work for drugs, as we saw during the 1920s and early 1930s, when the attempt to ban alcohol failed dramatically. That endeavor created thriving mafia groups that are still plying their violent trade in major cities today.

Prohibitions on guns in these same cities are also a colossal failure, with the worst gun violence stats blossoming in places like Chicago, New York and LA. There, the nation’s worst gun-crime stats continue to grow amid the nation’s strictest gun control laws.

But we want to turn our gaze on one shining example of a prohibition that is failing presently and dramatically: the knife ban in England and Wales.

England has long had some of the most restrictive gun laws in the western world. But in the wake of unprecedented immigrant driven crime, the island nation has decided to ban knives too.

In the Spring of 2018, London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, instituted a ban on all knives, and the entirety of England has considered following his example. To announce his decision, Khan tweeted, “No excuses. There is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law.”

In response to this, Bearingarms.com wrote, “Let’s assume this knife ban reduces the number of stabbing murders in London. I don’t think it will, but let’s play along for a moment and pretend it will. What then?”

One year and three months later, and the British news outlet Sky News is reporting that knife crime has risen 8% over that of the previous year. They report, “The figures for police-recorded crime revealed there were 43,516 police-recorded offenses involving a knife or sharp instrument, which is the highest since comparable records began in 2011.”

One man was charged with a crime for carrying a potato peeler. The police have set up knife turn-in bins where people can anonymously hand over their sharp implements to the authorities. These large bins full of knives have been broken into and pillaged all over London and other areas.

Murder rates in London now rival those of New York City. They haven’t quite reached Chicago levels, but they are on their way. What’s more, London’s sewer system is overflowing with human waste. This is because the city’s sewer system is only able to accommodate 2 million people. In the last five years, the population has grown to over 8 million.

TrustforEngland.org.uk writes, “Inner London’s population has increased by 300,000 since 2011 to 3.5 million while Outer London’s has increased by 350,000 to 5.3 million.”

Of course, we know that London never had an over the top crime problem until recent years. Knives have been there all the time. Writing for Prisonplanet.com, Englishman, Paul Joseph Watson lists a number of underlying causes for the rising spike in knife crime.

– The scaling back of “stop and search” because it’s racist.

– The ongoing emasculation of UK police forces who are being trained that mean words and ‘hate crime’ is more important than people dying.

– Fatherless families.

– UK street gangs becoming more violent to compete with immigrants from countries like Congo and Somalia.

– The ongoing mass importation of people from violent countries in general.

– Drill rap music that encourages young people to commit murder.

– Political leaders like Sadiq Khan refusing to even admit there’s a problem to protect their own pathetic legacies.

Sadly, journalists who report on the causal reason for England’s growing violence problem are smeared as bigots and thrown in jail. Citizens who speak out against the unfair privileges that are being given to a hostile immigrant population are arrested in the middle of the night.

Most recently, conservative activist Tommy Robinson was thrown in jail a second time for the same “offense” of reporting on Muslim child rape gangs. The first time he was jailed, his Muslim inmates attempted to poison him, causing him to starve himself down 40 pounds in three months.

Now, he is sentenced to eight months in a prison with an even larger Muslim population. Tommy’s friends and supporters have every expectation that he will not survive.

We are watching England die right before our eyes. England is the mother of our nation, and it is the origin of the legal philosophy that makes the West, and the United States, in particular, a stronghold of freedom.

England has abandoned its people for a foreign replacement population. If we are not ready to defend our republic, the same thing could easily happen here.
