Gun Protester Threatens to Kill Children
We’ve said it before, and we’ll continue to say it- the Left invented political violence.
We bring you Mr. Laurence Wayne Key.
He was an enthusiastic contributor to the “March For Our Lives” movement, a series of disingenuous 2nd Amendment protests funded by Democrats which used public school children as tokens for their cause. He marched with the children, who, carrying signs made for them at professional printing facilities- were probably just glad to be let out of class.
Key was arrested, police say, for threatening to kill the child of a Congressman. The Congressional representative, R. Brian Mast supports the right of Americans to possess firearms for self-defense. This, in Key’s mind, was justification to make death threats against the politician’s children.
Let it never stray from your mind, this is what the Left is like. They believe that they have superior moral values, are better educated, and that anyone who thinks differently to them is a sub-human creature worthy of threats and violence.
The Stuart Florida Police Dept. released the following statement shortly after the arrest was made:
“Laurence Wayne Key is facing federal charges under the offense of “communication of a threat to kidnap or injure a person.”
A criminal complaint shows Key is accused of calling Mast’s Washington, D.C. office Monday, and telling an intern who answered the phone, “I’m going to find the Congressman’s kids and kill them. If you’re going to separate kids at the border, I’m going to kill his kids. Don’t try to find me because you won’t.’
Documents show that the intern reported the phone call to their supervisor. The FBI was made aware of the threat and began an investigation. Key was arrested shortly after allegedly making the threat.”
What the opponents of gun rights don’t understand is that what we are arguing over is a fundamental truth about reality. They believe that the police can protect everyone and that a prohibition law can actually take guns out of the general population.
It’s a strange stance to take, especially from the sort of people who tend to support abolishing prohibition laws because the war on drugs has been a failure. They are right. The prohibition of alcohol in the last century was an abysmal failure. The prohibition of drugs has also been a failure. So how do they imagine that a prohibition on guns would turn out?
It should be obvious. Banning guns would create a black market for firearms. In such an environment, criminals would sell guns on the street and engage in violence in order to hold on to their positions in that black market. This is exactly what the war on drugs has done.
Of course, they also suffer from a dearth of understanding about gun violence stats, ignoring the fact that over 70% of gun deaths are the result of law-abiding gun owners successfully defending themselves from violent criminals.
But this type of arguendo is useless against people like Laurence Key, the likes of whom we have seen more and more in recent days. Take, as an example, Peter Fonda, the star of the 1970s film classic, Easy Rider. In response to the mainstream media’s half-truths about illegal immigrants being torn from their children- he sent out a tweet saying Donald Trump’s son, Barron, should be put in a cage with pedophiles. It read;
“We should rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against the massive (expletive) she is married to.”
Fonda apologized for his awful tweet. But unlike Rosanne Barr, it does not appear that he will be losing any work over his disgusting comments. In fact, Sony released a movie he starred in the week after he posted this.
It is difficult not to believe that there is a common spiritual nature to the political opposition to freedom, property rights, and the integrity of the family. These same people who threaten and attack us over fundamental disagreements on the nature of reality prefer violence over argument and debate. They are a monolith and are remarkably uniform in their violent, anti-freedom mentality.
We would do well to understand them. We should work to wrap our heads around this ideology that does not see individuals, but only groups of people. They do not believe in facts or logic. These, their ideology tells them, are just the tools of those who seek power.
At present, the mainstream news media, academia, and Hollywood are doing their best to incite Left-wing voters to violence. They want a civil war. And they want us to be disarmed before it starts.
We will not let them take us, unarmed, into the darkness of their twisted vision for the future.
