Five Mass Shootings in One Weekend – No Media Coverage for Some Reason

Can you believe there were five mass shootings in American cities over the weekend of September 20th? Enough is enough! When will Congress save us from this scourge of white nationalist terrorists?! (Sarcasm.)

What’s that you say? You didn’t hear about the five mass shootings in one weekend because the mainstream media never mentioned any of them? Well, that’s weird! I wonder if there’s some sort of common factor in all the shootings which would somehow discourage the media from covering them?

In Indianapolis, the local TV station says that two groups of about 25 “youths” were in a fierce shouting match with each other when gunplay erupted. Must have been the local Klan arguing with a group of neo-Nazis about which group hates undocumented workers more!

32-year-old Ryan Haemmerle, who was in town for a wedding, had walked around the groups of arguing “youths” and was walking toward his car when he was caught in the crossfire. He was hit in the leg and took cover behind a vehicle until a passing good Samaritan stopped and put a tourniquet on him. He’ll be fine, but Ryan was one of six people wounded in the mass shooting on a public street.

In Washington, D.C., one man was killed and five of his friends were wounded in his front yard. Police say a sedan pulled to a stop in front of the house, several gunmen jumped out, and opened fire on them. The suspects are still at large, but the D.C. police say that at least one of the shooters is known to be a part of a “local crew.”

Get it? “Local crew”… in Washington, D.C.? Obviously, the shooters were Trump campaign volunteers.

New Orleans, which we all know is a hotbed of white supremacy, had two mass shootings over the same weekend. Five people were wounded, and a 17-year-old was killed when one car full of teenagers opened fire on another car full of teenagers on Canal Street. That happened on Saturday night, and the following morning, four teens were shot in a car in a different area of town.

In the town of Lancaster in South Carolina, which you’ll remember was a Confederate state in the Civil War, two people were killed and eight were wounded when a gunman opened fire at the Old Skool Sports Bar and Grill.

It seems like only a month ago when the media was telling us that two mass shootings in a single weekend were irrefutable evidence that we all needed to turn in our AK-47s to Beto O’Rourke. Yet with five mass shootings in a single weekend, not one of the incidents was covered in the national media.

If you haven’t guessed, all five of the mass shootings were black-on-black violence. The only white person involved in any of the shootings was the bystander who was shot in the leg in Indianapolis. And that pretty much tells you everything that you need to know about the motives of the gun-grabbers in Congress.

As House Democrats were working on their “red flag” turn-your-neighbors-in bill this month, a House Republican offered a great amendment to the bill. Under his amendment, being arrested for any gang-related activity or being a known gang associate would automatically get a person red-flagged.

Democrats killed the amendment, because of course they did. Gun control isn’t about “the children” or “keeping our communities safe” or any of the other recycled talking points they always throw at us.

Fortunately, it looks like gun control is now dead in the water for the remainder of Nancy Pelosi’s truncated stint as House Speaker. Pelosi took the bait and announced impeachment proceedings against President Trump, so the House will be tied up with that for the foreseeable future.

Considering the fact that the “treasonous Ukraine phone call” blew up in the Democrats’ faces in less than 24 hours, Pelosi’s only hope of placating her wingnut base will be to drag the phony “impeachment proceedings” out until after the 2020 election, and by that point, she’ll lose control of the House anyway.

Nothing related to gun control will be passed by the House in the meantime. It’ll be impeachment 24/7, and they’ll be lucky if they can even find enough time to squeeze out a budget. When you think about it, a gridlocked Congress in an impeachment frenzy where both sides refuse to talk to each other was the best possible outcome for gun owners.
