California Gun Control Laws Failed to Stop Another Mass Shooting

Democrats are ramping up the liberal rhetoric to fevered extremes for the 2020 presidential elections. This includes pushing unprecedentedly restrictive gun control measures.

Now that we’ve had another mass shooting at a synagogue, of course, the anti-gun rhetoric is worse than normal. Beto O’Rourke, for example, has said that he believes semi-automatic weapons should be banned. But it’s worth keeping in mind that he probably thinks semi-automatic means fully automatic. Fully automatic weapons, as you almost certainly know, are already heavily restricted.

Democrats, however, have always been stridently anti-gun. This is because they know deep down that their policies and their agenda are opposed to natural human freedom and that some people will take exception to that.

It is also because they have no sense of allegiance with their fellow Americans. They see half the country as dangerous religious fanatics and the other half as their cattle. If you think that’s an extreme appraisal, just read some of the Council on Foreign Relations’ internal documents.

So, this last weekend there was another synagogue attack by a lone gunman. As usual, the mainstream media jumped to publish the name of the shooter and make him instantly infamous- which is why nihilistic psychos do these things in the first place.

Three people were injured in the attack, and one woman was killed as she jumped in front of a church leader to protect him. Her name is Lori Kaye. She was 60 years old, and her heroic actions were successful.

The Rabbi who Kaye shielded, while wounded, continued to deliver his sermon while the attack proceeded. Among the injured was an eight-year-old girl.

The Rabbi had this to say about the man who repelled the attacker, “Just miraculously, the gun jammed, and in attendance, at the synagogue, there was an off duty border patrol agent, Mr. Jonathan Morales. Many times I would say to him ‘Jonathan, you work for the border patrol, please arm yourself when you are here. We never know when we’ll need it.’ As soon as the gun jammed, and as soon as the shouting was going on, he jumped up in pursuit.”

The state of California has some of, if not the most, restrictive gun laws in the union. These regulations did not prevent this act of violence- in fact, they probably made it possible for the attack to go on longer than it would have otherwise.

The Rabbi’s comments are not exactly accurate. Jonathan Morales was not armed when the attack began due to the fact that the church was designated as a gun free zone. The attacker was able to wound three and kill one before his gun jammed. It was at that moment that Morales leaped from his seat and ran to where his gun was stored. Only then was he able to pursue and repel the assailant.

CNN and MSNBC wasted no time in blaming President Trump for the attack. They say he has created an atmosphere of chaos that encourages his supporters to commit violence. This, of course, is a lie. The shooter, as usual, had a manifesto. He expressly states that he hates Donald Trump precisely because he believes Trump is too much of an ally to Israel and to the Jewish community. So, once again, we see that the talking heads of the mainstream media and their unscrupulous masters are nothing but spreaders of a false narrative. They are the epitome of fake news.

The Rabbi praised the President for his kindness after receiving a call from President Trump the following morning. But CNN and MSNBC would never dream of reporting that.

California’s gun control laws prohibit any person from carrying a gun in certain zones. These include schools, churches, and most publicly owned buildings. Persons below the age of 21 cannot legally own a gun. Concealed carry permissions are unusually difficult to obtain and violations come with hefty fines and penalties. California has one of the largest lists of banned firearms accessories. And to make matters worse, gun laws on ammo capacity and storage requirements are constantly changing. This makes it necessary for California gun owners to monitor gun laws constantly to avoid being transformed into a criminal overnight.

Needless to say, many California gun owners are criminalized over sudden changes to gun laws. The NRA and similar groups are constantly fighting for their rights.

If officer Morales has not had access to a weapon, the human cost would certainly have been much worse. Still, it would have been nice if he hadn’t had to keep his gun in an adjacent location.
